September is harvest season in wine country. Delicious grapes are plumping up on the vine, soaking up the sunshine and getting ready to transform. Oenophilia’s (wine lovers) are anxiously awaiting the vintage.
Across the country there are wine festivals and our neighbor to the north, Colorado, has one of the best! The 26th Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest happens in Grand Junction and surrounding cities during September.
For those of you who enjoy Wine & Painting evenings can indulge on the 14th at the Palette 441 in Grand Junction. This class includes light hors d’oeuvres. Also that evening is a Food & Wine Pairing class at participating restaurants that repeats on Sunday the 17th
On Saturday, September 16th the Festival in the Park will feature over 55 Colorado wineries, live music, a grape stomp, seminars and live demonstrations. It’s held in River Bend Park in Palisade starting at 10:30.
